The Actions menu in the top right of your study dashboard holds everything you can do to a study after it’s live. Most actions work the same on every study. Incentives and charges depend on whether you’re running a panel study or bringing your own participants.

Available on every study

View Study

Opens the complete configuration — research plan, moderator voice, format, language, and screener questions — read-only. Use it to check what you asked before interpreting a result, or to show the design to a colleague.

Edit Study

Reopens the setup flow so you can change the research plan, moderator, format, or screeners.
Editing a study that’s already collecting has a cost. If you change questions or flow partway through, early and late responses aren’t directly comparable.
Safe at any time:
  • Renaming the study
  • Fixing a typo that doesn’t change a question’s meaning
Risky once responses are in:
  • Adding, removing, or rewording questions
  • Changing the interview format
  • Changing the moderator voice
  • Changing screener criteria
For substantial changes after collecting responses, duplicate the study and edit the copy instead. The first set of responses stays intact.
Some studies get a mid-study review that suggests up to two questions to add. Accepting it adds them to the live study plan for future interviews. See Mid-study review.

Duplicate Study

Copies the research plan, moderator settings, and screeners into a new study, without any responses. Use it to run the same study with a different audience, to re-run it next quarter for comparison, or to make substantial changes without contaminating data you’ve already collected.

Pause and Resume

Pause Study stops the study taking new responses. While paused:
  • Anyone following your study link sees a Study Paused message instead of starting an interview
  • Send Email Invites is disabled, and you can’t resend invites or copy their links. The rest of the Invite Participants menu stays available
  • Test conversations still work, so you can keep checking the study yourself
  • Everything already collected stays exactly where it is
Resume Study reopens the same links, so you don’t need to redistribute anything. A Complete study (one that reached its target) can’t be paused.

Delete Study

Permanently removes the study and everything attached to it: all interviews, transcripts, recordings, reports, and participant records.
Deletion cannot be undone. Save anything you need first — Download calls (CSV) from the Calls tab for transcripts, or Print Report from the Reports tab.
If you might collect more later, pause instead. If you want the findings to outlive the study, sync it to the Intelligence Hub first.

Enable Incentives

Pay your participants for completing an interview. Panel studies don’t have this option: User Intuition sets and pays panel incentives as part of the per-participant cost.

Open Enable Incentives

From the Actions menu. Once incentives are on, the menu item reads Incentives: $X and opens Edit Incentives instead.

Set the amount

Enter a reward per participant, between $5 and $500. It’s debited from your wallet when a reward is actually sent.

Choose how rewards go out

Tick Automatically send rewards after quality interviews to have them sent for you, or leave it unticked to send each one by hand from the Calls tab.
Rewards are only offered for interviews rated Excellent or Good, and never for test invites. To turn incentives off, open Edit Incentives and click Disable.
You need a payment method on file to send rewards. Without one, the reward button in the Calls tab is replaced by “No Card on File.”

Panel studies

Stopping a fielding panel

A study can field only one panel at a time. Setting up a new one while another is fielding prompts you to stop the existing panel first. Pausing the study halts a fielding panel and keeps its recruitment progress and reward hold. Resuming restarts the same panel. Stopping is final for the current panel. It closes recruitment, settles completed rewards, and releases any unused hold. When you edit a fielding panel, choose Pause & Edit to continue it later or Stop & Edit to close it out.

What you’re charged for, side by side

Fair differs because of who chose the participant. On panel studies we recruited them, so a thin conversation is on us. On your own studies you control who gets the link. The $30 per-participant panel cost follows the same rule: you’re billed only for Excellent and Good completes. See Billing and credits.

Frequently asked questions

Bring-your-own-participant studies can be edited while fielding. For a panel study, first choose Pause & Edit to preserve the panel or Stop & Edit to close it out. Changes affect only interviews that happen afterwards, so your dataset can contain responses collected under different configurations.
