Before diving into User Intuition, it helps to understand a few core concepts that shape how the platform works.

Studies

A study is a research project focused on a specific question or objective. Each study includes:
  • Research plan: The objectives, questions, and conversation flow
  • Interviewer configuration: Voice selection and interview mode
  • Participant list: Who you’ve invited and their status
  • Results: Completed interviews, transcripts, and reports

Study Types

User Intuition offers six pre-built study templates:
TypeBest For
Win/Loss AnalysisUnderstanding deal outcomes
Churn AnalysisDiagnosing customer exits
NPS & CSATUnderstanding satisfaction drivers
Customer OnboardingOptimizing early experiences
Brand HealthTracking perceptions over time
Custom DesignUnique research needs
All study types follow the same setup process—only the research plan differs.

Interviews

An interview (also called a “call”) is a single conversation between the AI interviewer and a participant. Interviews are:
  • Conversational: Natural dialogue, not rigid surveys
  • Adaptive: The AI follows up based on responses
  • Deep: Uses laddering techniques to uncover underlying motivations
  • Recorded: Full audio and transcript captured automatically

Interview Modes

ModeDescription
ChatText-based conversation
AudioVoice conversation (most common)
VideoVideo call with optional screen sharing

Interview Quality

Each interview receives a quality rating based on:
  • Call duration
  • Participant verbosity (substantive vs. one-word answers)
  • Coverage of research objectives

Charles, Your AI Researcher

Charles is User Intuition’s AI research assistant who helps you design studies. During setup, Charles:
  • Asks clarifying questions about your research goals
  • Generates a customized research plan
  • Adapts the plan based on your feedback
You can interact with Charles via voice or chat—whichever you prefer.

The AI Interviewer

The AI Interviewer (Elliot or Paige) conducts the actual conversations with participants. The interviewer:
  • Follows your research plan while adapting to each conversation
  • Uses laddering techniques to probe deeper
  • Maintains a warm, professional tone
  • Achieves 98% participant satisfaction
The interviewer is distinct from Charles—Charles helps you design; the interviewer executes.

Intelligence Hub

The Intelligence Hub is your organization’s searchable repository of customer knowledge. Every completed interview feeds into the hub, creating:
  • Searchable transcripts: Query across all historical conversations
  • Pattern recognition: Identify trends across thousands of interviews
  • Institutional memory: Knowledge that survives team changes
  • Compound learning: Each conversation enriches the system
Unlike traditional research where insights get buried in slide decks, the Intelligence Hub keeps everything accessible and growing.

Reports

Reports are AI-generated analyses that synthesize findings across multiple interviews. Reports include:
  • Executive Summary
  • Top Insights at a Glance
  • Detailed analysis by theme
  • Supporting quotes and evidence
Reports require at least 2 completed interviews and can be regenerated as more responses come in.

Participants

Participants are the people who complete your interviews. You can recruit participants through:
