Overview
The Review Goals screen displays the complete research plan in an editable format. You can review every element of the plan and make changes directly in the document editor. What You’ll See
Study Name
At the top of the screen, you’ll see a field to name your study. Charles suggests a default name based on your conversation, but you can change it to whatever makes sense for your organization. Best practices for naming studies:- Include the research type (e.g., “NPS Deep Dive”)
- Include a date or quarter (e.g., “Q1 2024”)
- Include the customer segment if relevant (e.g., “Enterprise Customers”)
- “Nike Voice Survey”
- “Q4 Churn Analysis - SMB Segment”
- “Post-Launch NPS - Mobile App Users”
The Research Plan Document
Below the study name, you’ll see the full research plan in a rich text editor. The plan typically includes: Objective — A clear, concise statement of what the study aims to accomplish. This should directly address the business question you’re trying to answer. Background — Context about your company and situation that informs how the AI interviewer approaches conversations. North-Star Learning Goal — The primary insights the study must deliver. These are the non-negotiable outcomes that define success. Key Sub-Questions — Specific questions organized by theme that the interviewer will explore. Conversation Flow — A section-by-section outline of how each interview will progress, including time estimates. Interviewer Guidelines — Instructions that guide the AI interviewer’s behavior, ensuring professional, unbiased conversations.Editing the Research Plan

Tips for Effective Research Plans
Keep Questions Open-Ended
Good research questions invite storytelling, not yes/no answers.| ❌ Avoid | ✅ Better |
|---|---|
| ”Did you have a good experience?" | "Walk me through your most recent experience." |
| "Is our pricing fair?" | "How did you feel about the pricing when you made your decision?" |
| "Would you recommend us?" | "If a colleague asked about us, what would you tell them?” |
Balance Breadth and Depth
A good research plan covers the key topics you need to explore while leaving room for the AI to dig deeper on unexpected insights. Don’t try to cover everything—focus on what matters most.Consider Your Participants’ Perspective
Write questions in language your customers use, not internal jargon. Think about what context participants will need to answer meaningfully.Trust the AI Interviewer
You don’t need to script every possible follow-up question. The AI interviewer will naturally probe deeper when participants say something interesting.Saving Your Changes
