Accessing Reports
From your Study Dashboard:- Click the Reports tab
- View the AI-generated analysis
Reports require at least 2 completed interviews to generate meaningful insights. The more responses you collect, the richer your report will be.
Report Structure
Reports are organized into several sections designed to take you from high-level findings to supporting detail:Executive Summary
A concise overview of the most important findings from your research. This section is designed to quickly communicate key takeaways to stakeholders who may not read the full report.Total Participants
A clear count of how many interviews contributed to this report (e.g., “Total Participants (N): 1”). This helps you and your stakeholders understand the sample size behind the insights.Top Insights at a Glance
A bulleted list of the most significant findings, each with a brief explanation. These are the insights most likely to drive action. Example:
- Value is Price-Driven, Not Actively Tracked: The participant defines value as getting “bargains” and low prices, trusting the overall basket total reflects savings rather than performing explicit ROI calculations.
- Pharmacy Lacks Credibility: Despite using the pharmacy for convenience, the participant feels it lacks a “real health care experience” and desires more proactive counsel from staff.
Detailed Analysis
In-depth exploration of findings organized by research objective or theme. Each section includes:- Key observations: What the data shows
- Supporting evidence: Quotes and examples from interviews
- Implications: What this means for your business
Recommendations
Actionable next steps based on the research findings. Recommendations are specific, actionable, prioritized by potential impact, and connected to supporting evidence.Generating Reports
Initial Report Generation
Reports are generated on-demand after you have at least 2 completed interviews:- Navigate to the Reports tab
- Click Generate Report (if no report exists yet)
- Wait for the AI to analyze your interviews and produce the report
Updating Reports
As more responses come in, you’ll need to regenerate the report to include new data:- Navigate to the Reports tab
- Click Regenerate Report
- The updated report will incorporate all completed interviews
Coming Soon: Automatic report regeneration after each new response.
Working with Reports
Sharing with Stakeholders
Reports are designed to be presentation-ready:- Executive Summary for leadership and quick reviews
- Top Insights for team meetings and discussions
- Detailed Analysis for deep dives and planning sessions
Using Quotes and Evidence
The report includes verbatim quotes from participants. Use these to:- Build credibility for your findings
- Illustrate points in presentations
- Create empathy for customer perspectives
Connecting to Transcripts
If you want to explore a finding more deeply:- Note the relevant insight from the report
- Switch to the Calls tab
- Review the source transcripts for additional context
Report Quality
Factors Affecting Report Quality
| Factor | Impact |
|---|---|
| Number of responses | More responses = more robust patterns |
| Response quality | High-quality interviews provide richer insights |
| Research plan clarity | Well-defined objectives lead to focused analysis |
| Topic coverage | Consistent coverage across interviews strengthens findings |
Minimum Sample Sizes
| Research Goal | Recommended Minimum |
|---|---|
| Exploratory insights | 5-10 interviews |
| Pattern identification | 10-20 interviews |
| Segment comparison | 10+ per segment |
| Statistical confidence | 30+ interviews |
Interpreting Results
Strong vs. Weak Signals
Strong signals (high confidence):- Mentioned by multiple participants
- Consistent across different segments
- Supported by specific examples
- Mentioned by only one participant
- Contradicted by other responses
- Lacking specific examples
Handling Contradictions
When participants disagree:- Look for segment differences (e.g., new vs. long-term customers)
- Consider context differences
- Note the contradiction for further research
Sample Size Caveats
Always consider sample size when interpreting results:| Sample Size | Confidence Level |
|---|---|
| 2-5 | Treat as directional hypotheses to validate |
| 10-20 | Patterns are emerging but may shift |
| 30+ | Higher confidence in consistent findings |
Best Practices
Before sharing reports
Before sharing reports
- Review for accuracy: Spot-check quotes against transcripts
- Add context: Note sample size and any limitations
- Highlight priorities: Call out the most actionable insights
- Connect to decisions: Link findings to pending business decisions
Using reports effectively
Using reports effectively
- Start with the Executive Summary: Get the big picture first
- Dive into relevant sections: Focus on your priority questions
- Review supporting evidence: Build confidence in key findings
- Plan next steps: Turn insights into actions
Iterative research
Iterative research
Reports often raise new questions. Consider follow-up studies to explore specific findings, segment-specific research to understand differences, and longitudinal studies to track changes over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I edit the report?
Can I edit the report?
Reports are generated by AI and are read-only. You can copy content to edit externally.
How often should I regenerate the report?
How often should I regenerate the report?
Regenerate when you’ve collected a meaningful batch of new responses (e.g., 5-10 more interviews). Frequent regeneration with small increments may not show significant changes.
Can I generate different types of reports?
Can I generate different types of reports?
Currently, one standard report format is generated. Custom report formats may be available for enterprise customers—contact support for details.
Why does my report look thin?
Why does my report look thin?
Reports require substantive interview data. If your report seems thin, check that you have enough completed interviews (2+ minimum, 10+ recommended), review response quality, and ensure your research plan has clear objectives.
Can I export the report?
Can I export the report?
Yes. Use the export options to download the report in various formats for sharing or archiving.
Will the report update automatically?
Will the report update automatically?
Not currently. You must manually regenerate reports to include new responses. Automatic updates are on our roadmap.
