> Review completed interviews: the calls list, quality ratings, and the transcript, responses, and summary for every conversation.

# Calls & Transcripts

As participants complete interviews, you can review each conversation in detail. The **Calls** tab on your study dashboard gives you every completed interview, with its transcript, its screener answers, and a summary of what it produced.

## The calls list

Open the **Calls** tab on your study dashboard. Each row is one interview.

| Column | Description |
| --------------- | ----------------------------------- |
| **Email** | The participant |
| **Status** | Where the interview got to |
| **Date & Time** | When it happened |
| **Duration** | How long it ran |
| **Quality** | Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor |
| **End Reason** | How the conversation ended |
| **Reward** | Only shown when rewards are enabled |

Click any row to expand it.

### Status

Most rows read **Completed** or **Ended** — the interview happened and the data is in. **Active** means someone is in the conversation right now. **Pending** and **Processing** are transient: the interview is queued, or it's finished and the transcript and analysis are still being prepared. Give processing rows a few minutes.

### Quality ratings

Every completed interview is rated on three things: how long the conversation ran, how substantive the answers were, and how much of your research plan it actually covered.

| Rating | Meaning | Charged on panel | Charged on your own participants |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------ | :--------------: | :------------------------------: |
| **Excellent** | Rich, detailed responses across the full plan | Yes | Yes |
| **Good** | Solid responses with good coverage | Yes | Yes |
| **Fair** | Usable, but thin in places | No | Yes |
| **Poor** | Minimal answers, or the conversation ended early | No | No |

The difference on **Fair** comes down to who picked the participant. On panel studies we did the recruiting, so a thin conversation is our sourcing problem and you aren't charged. On your own studies you control who gets the link. See [Study actions](/managing-your-study/study-actions#what-youre-charged-for-side-by-side).

### Filtering by quality

Use the filter above the table to choose which ratings you want to see. Excellent, Good, and Fair are shown by default.

**Poor is hidden once you have enough responses** for it not to matter — on a study with only a handful of interviews it stays visible, so you're never looking at an empty table. Tick it any time to bring those rows back.

### End reasons

| End reason | What happened |
| ------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Customer Ended Call** | The participant ended the conversation |
| **Assistant Ended Call** | The moderator wrapped up after covering everything |
| Anything else | The system ended it — a connection problem, a long silence, or the maximum call length |

An interview that ended early isn't automatically a bad one. Check the quality rating and the transcript before discounting it.

## Reviewing a single interview

Expanding a row gives you three tabs.

### Transcript

The full conversation as a chat-style transcript, with the moderator's turns on one side and the participant's on the other, timestamped throughout.

Above it are playback controls for the recording — audio for voice studies, video or screen replay where the study captured them. Click any transcript segment to jump to that moment in the recording.

<Tip>
Read the transcript, but listen to at least a few. Tone, hesitation, and emphasis don't survive the transcription.
</Tip>

### Responses

Every answer the participant gave to your screener questions, so you can see who you were actually talking to.

### Summary

What this specific interview produced:

* **Overall takeaways** — the headline points from the conversation
* **Each key question from your research plan**, with what this participant said in response and a supporting quote where there is one

Questions the conversation never got to are shown as unanswered, so you can see coverage gaps at a glance rather than reading the whole transcript to find them.
