# ChatGPT plugin for qualitative research

> Run qualitative research and customer interviews from ChatGPT. Install the User Intuition plugin, sign in, and design studies or review interview evidence.

Install [User Intuition from the ChatGPT plugin directory](https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6ad5de9718bc8191bf0a468cb455fed1) to run qualitative research with real people from ChatGPT: AI-moderated in-depth interviews, concept tests, and prototype tests. Setup takes three steps:

1. Open the [User Intuition listing](https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6ad5de9718bc8191bf0a468cb455fed1) and install the plugin.
2. Sign in to your User Intuition account when prompted.
3. Start a new chat and ask, for example, "List my User Intuition studies."

No developer mode, API key, or manual connector is needed. The plugin uses the full MCP server at `https://mcp.userintuition.ai/mcp` with OAuth sign-in. Available actions depend on your account permissions and the scopes granted during sign-in.

## Workspace admins

On ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu, a workspace admin may need to enable User Intuition before members can use it. New Enterprise and Edu workspaces enable only selected apps, so others show **Disabled by admin** until an admin turns them on under **Admin console → Plugins**. Business admins can also turn plugins off for the workspace.

## What ChatGPT can do

* Create and customize studies, then show the saved plan for your review.
* Estimate Panel recruitment cost and timing before launch.
* Launch paid Panel recruitment only after a separate human approval. A launch can consume credits or place a card hold.
* Monitor fielding, inspect interviews, and review reports with source references.
* Search existing research and answer questions with links to the interviews behind each finding.

## Try it

* **Consumer goods:** "Design a concept test of three packaging claims for a snack brand with US grocery shoppers. Show me the saved plan and a Panel estimate before any launch."
* **Retail:** "Set up in-depth interviews with shoppers who switched grocery stores in the last six months to learn why they left."
* **Tech:** "Create a prototype test of our new onboarding flow with trial users, then summarize where people got stuck once interviews are in."
* **Any study:** "What did participants say about pricing in this study? Show the interviews behind the findings."

## Custom endpoint (smaller profile or sandbox)

To connect a [smaller profile](https://docs.userintuition.ai/mcp-server/overview.md#smaller-profiles) or the [sandbox](https://docs.userintuition.ai/api-reference/staging-quickstart.md) instead of the full plugin, add a custom MCP server in ChatGPT on the web:

1. Open **Plugins**, select **+**, then **Add custom MCP server**.
2. Enter the endpoint URL, for example `https://mcp.userintuition.ai/core/mcp` or `https://mcp.sandbox.userintuition.ai/mcp`.
3. Choose **OAuth** authentication, then select **Create as a plugin** and sign in when prompted.

Custom MCP servers are available on ChatGPT web for Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces. On Business, only workspace admins and owners can add them.
