# Report slide exports

> Download an editable presentation from a saved study report

## Create a deck

Call `POST /api/public/v1/studies/{study_id}/exports/report-slides` after the study report has been generated. A read-scoped API key can queue the export. Send an `Idempotency-Key` when retrying the same request after a timeout.

```http theme={null}
POST /api/public/v1/studies/{study_id}/exports/report-slides?redact_pii=true
Authorization: Bearer ui_sk_...
Idempotency-Key: 97127ee4-65c2-4978-8f8f-4a19dd19812d
```

The `202` response includes a `job_id`. Poll `GET /api/public/v1/studies/{study_id}/exports/report-slides/jobs/{job_id}` until `status` is `succeeded`. The successful response includes `slide_count` and a fresh `download_url`. Download the editable PowerPoint (`.pptx`) file from that URL.

The deck contains the saved executive summary, key metrics, findings and quotations, participant profiles, evidence coverage and gaps, next steps, and source reference IDs. It flags stale and legacy reports. It does not include raw participant response transcripts or recording URLs. Generate a new report first if you need current findings.

## Privacy and retention

Exports default to `redact_pii=true`, which masks common email, phone, and US Social Security number patterns in report text. Pattern masking cannot detect every identifier, including names and street addresses. Set `redact_pii=false` only when your use requires unmasked report text.

The file lives in the private `research-exports` bucket. The polling endpoint checks study access and job ownership before issuing a signed URL that lasts 15 minutes. The job stops issuing URLs after seven days, when the job processor deletes expired export objects. Store downloaded files according to your own retention policy.
